About Leslie

Leslie has an extensive background working with historic structure owners, developers, real estate professionals, and local governments in understanding these unique buildings.

Leslie is a Historic Architecture Professional, qualified by the Secretary of the Interior (36 CFR Part 61). She holds a Master of Architecture degree from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Historic Preservation from the University of Mary Washington. She is the co-author of the Texas A&M University Heritage Building Guidelines for the Campus Master Plan, and focused her studies on the adaptive reuse of a historic military motorpool building on Ft Monroe, VA. She has conducted historic structures reports for the Town of Carthage North Carolina, as well as for privately owned historic buildings in Cameron, Carthage, Aberdeen, and Southern Pines. She was also named the 2016 Ft. Bragg Military Spouse of the Year. She is the co-founder of The Pines Preservation Guild and has served as the Chair of the Southern Pines Historic District Commission and currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the Aberdeen Historic Preservation Commission.

After 10 years working in the graphic design and branding field while being a military spouse, Leslie returned to her preservation roots in 2019. She and her husband live in and are currently rehabilitating a 1951 Colonial Revival in Aberdeen, NC with their two young daughters and a small flock of chickens.
